Thought this was post worthy...

So the BBC is reporting that in his new book, Stephen Hawking has come to the conclusion that the Big Bang followed the laws of physics and that God has no place in the idea of our creation. Very interesting, since before he had never ruled out the possibility.

Of course this will obviously offend and upset a lot of people, but it really begs the question, could we see a decrease in the amount of religion in the world as more and more science is being able to disprove it, while religion is not able to prove themselves with hard evidence?

Definitely is going to be interesting to see how things turn out and what the fallout of this will be. Check out the article here.

Symphony of Science - We Are All Connected

I'm going to start posting songs created by Symphony of Science. They take presentations by various sciences, auto tune them, and put them to music. The result is pretty amazing, and makes even the most dull speech fun to listen to. Make sure to watch them in HD if it's available. Hope everyone enjoys them!

Drake's Equation

Really makes you realize how small we all are. Fascinating.

Captchas

I wanted to dedicate this post to something I hate. Captchas. I hate them. I find it so annoying to be browsing someones blog, want to leave a comment, and then have to type in some letters that I can barely read. I wish more people would turn them off like I have. Think of your followers!

Pale Blue Dot

Started reading this little gem, so far so good! Obviously this is where I got the idea for the name of my blog. I love Sagan's style of writing. Anyone can understand it, and yet you feel like you've learnt so much from it. The man truly was a genius. Has anyone else read this?

WOW

I can't believe how many people have already came to my blog. I guess there are a lot of Carl Sagan fans out there.

I finished reading Varieties of Scientific Experience the other day. It's a really easy but interesting read on how science can be used to disprove religion. Very insightful. I would recommend anyone who is interested in Sagan to read it.
